(10/07 13:14:04) Calum Traveler: Back in 2007, the DRC locked open the doors to the Library and Museum in Ae’gura due to technical issues with the automatic sensors that were causing the doors to close in peoples faces, or stay shut when they should have opened. They have been locked open ever since.
(10/07 13:14:18) Calum Traveler: That’s almost 17 years it’s been like that! Definitely longer than the DRC ever thought it’d be, I’d wager.

(10/07 13:14:31) Calum Traveler: After several rounds of hard work from our resident techwizard Hazado, and riggorous testing of the mechanisms from the volunteer testers, I am pleased to announce that we have hammered out the original issues, and in the coming weeks, will be unlocking the DRC’s ‘temporary’ fix of the problem, and restoring the doors to proper functionality.

(10/07 13:15:05) Calum Traveler: Properly stay open if multiple people are inside the sensor region and not close again until all people have exited the sensor region.
(10/07 13:15:17) Calum Traveler: In our testing, we have tried to take into account the possibility that someone may link out while inside the sensor region, and we have calibrated it to not close again until another person has successfully entered and exited the region properly.
(10/07 13:15:34) Calum Traveler: We will be keeping our ears open incase this is not functioning as intended, as this is technically more of a temporary fix and we would prefer it if the doors would close again after a region is exited via linking, but that is something we weren’t able to get the sensors to recognize at this time.
(10/07 13:15:55) Calum Traveler: (This is a problem we’ve noticed with other automatic sensor doors elsewhere in the Cavern, and personally, I suspect the D’ni who designed the sensors didn’t anticipate people who had personal linking books deciding to link out in unexpected places like in the middle of an open doorway!)
(10/07 13:16:22) Calum Traveler: Hazado has also adjusted the sensor regions as well to trigger earlier than they used to, when approaching in certain directions, to ensure that the doors will not be closed by the time you reach them, which hopefully should not cause anyone running for a presumed empty doorway to run into them.
