I also wanted to give back to this community that has given me so much in return.

(10/05 13:07:26) skyisblu: And I have to give credit to IwonK, who really got the ball rolling with her Wonky drawing streams. That inspired me to give streaming a go myself.

(10/05 13:07:41) skyisblu: I’ve now been hosting the cooking stream for over 2 years, sharing 24 recipes, 24 streams, and one very delicious-looking website.
(10/05 13:07:59) skyisblu: Each month, I choose a recipe, usually something in theme with the season and what is growing in my garden, but I sometimes use events in the cavern as my inspiration, too.

(10/05 13:08:18) skyisblu: I cook my recipe at least once before the live stream, to be able to test the quantities, cooking times, or changes that I might make to the process.
(10/05 13:08:43) skyisblu: I also test out the feasibility of the recipe in one hour, see if I need to make a second batch to speed things up, like baking a cake to show the final product.
(10/05 13:08:57) skyisblu: I take photos of the entire process – these then get edited and used for my stream ads and my recipe blog, which I write up and translate into French in the days preceding the stream.
(10/05 13:09:14) skyisblu: The day of, I set up my kitchen “studio” – cameras, lights, laptops – I prep my ingredients and select my dishware, and psyche myself up to go live.
(10/05 13:09:33) skyisblu: Even though I am all alone in my kitchen, I still get stage fright every time I click the “stream” button, and it’s the reassuring greetings of my friends that get me over that initial hurdle.

(10/05 13:10:08) skyisblu: I love the cooking , and the sharing, but the conversations that are the result of my streams are some of my favorite.
