(02/07 13:14:33) Prad: Babbeltje and me have am ongoing project bringing back the cavern choir in the works, where I want to give you a status report.
(02/07 13:14:47) Prad: First of all – for everyone who wants to become a member of the choir, we have three simple recommendations for participation:
(02/07 13:14:59) Prad: 1.) You need to be able to sing (to be able to carry a tune, to be exact). I trust on your judgement and people you know well for that – we don’t do a qualifying examination atm.
(02/07 13:15:12) Prad: 2.) You don’t need to be able to read a musical sheet, but you need to be able to sing along a demo voice we provide for each voice of the choir.
(02/07 13:15:26) Prad: 3.) You need something to record music with, like usually microphone + headphone, some PC/Laptop with a soundcard and some recording program (there’s a bunch of freeware which suffices our purposes)
(02/07 13:15:44) Prad: Second about our status: For a planned spring concert we had a brainstorming going between 29th of january and 5th of february in the cavern choir discord channel “cavernchoir-was-moulachoir” of Babbeltjes discord server “Server van VrouwDinges” where people could make song suggestions.
(02/07 13:16:01) Prad: From that we have decided to sing “Happy Birthday” (4 voices, traditional), “Ave Verum Corpus” from W.A. Mozart (4 voices, classical) and “only You” by Voces8/”Flying Pickets” (4 voices, popular ACapella).
(02/07 13:16:20) Prad: The recording tracks which to sing along during the recordings as well as the musical scores (for those who can make use of them – there are always some) will be put on the discord server of babbeltje in the choir channel either end of this week (tomorrow) or start of next week.
(02/07 13:16:37) Prad: So for recording of the songs we will have a timeframe of start of next week until the 8th of march – that will be the deadline for sending in the recordings.
(02/07 13:16:50) Prad: You send in your recordings (which everyone records for themselves – I will do the final mixing) in mp3 format WITHOUT backing track (mute that channel before exporting in your recording program – each software has something like that),
(02/07 13:17:04) Prad: something above 125 kbps but not necessarily above 200 kbps playback bandwidth, to the cavern choir discord channel of Babbeltjes discord server – or contact us in cavern so we can do the data exchange in email attachments if you don’t have a discord account.
