All Guilds Meeting – May 2019 – Raw Chatlog

(05/11 13:01:09) Korov’ev: Shorah, and welcome to the 109th All Guilds Meeting!
(05/11 13:01:10) Eternal Seeker says hey
(05/11 13:01:15) Minasunda: Marignan sorry
(05/11 13:01:16) Umo: cool
(05/11 13:01:20) axenna: Shorah marignan
(05/11 13:01:27) Korov’ev: In the D’ni calendar today is Leefo 17, 9675, and the time is 3:00:11
(05/11 13:01:38) Korov’ev: As usual, I’ll remind you the 5 Meeting Rules:
(05/11 13:01:44) Korov’ev: 1. Please *keep chatter to a minimum* while speakers are talking. The occasional comment or emote is fine, but be respectful and let the speaker finish.
(05/11 13:01:52) Korov’ev: 2. If you have a question for a speaker, please don’t ask it directly: PM it to me. Be sure a “?” is somewhere in it to properly log the question in the queue.
(05/11 13:02:01) Korov’ev: 3. Speakers, please indicate when you are done speaking and ready for questions, and when you’re ready for the next question.
(05/11 13:02:19) Korov’ev: (though there might be no speakers today…)
(05/11 13:02:27) Korov’ev: 4. If a question requires a long explanation, we may have to skip it to keep things moving. In that case, you can always PM any speaker once they’ve left the stage.
(05/11 13:02:35) Korov’ev: 5. A summary and a chatlog of the Meeting will be published in the next few days on the Guild of Messengers’ brand new site:
(05/11 13:02:42) Korov’ev: Of course, you can start your own chatlog with “/startlog”.
(05/11 13:03:13) Korov’ev: It’s a busy month, so there were no big news from the community. But things keep happening behind the curtains: Writers are writing, OpenUru is testing, and so on.
(05/11 13:03:42) Korov’ev: So today we’ll jump straight to the Cyan news, as plenty of great things happened on that front 😉
(05/11 13:04:06) Korov’ev: As you might be aware, the Firmament Kickstarter was a success! (
(05/11 13:04:18) Tai’lahr claps her hands
(05/11 13:04:22) axenna claps her hands
(05/11 13:04:22) Thumbs up from rarified
(05/11 13:04:23) Tom(Samoth): Yeah!
(05/11 13:04:24) TGMChrist claps his hands
(05/11 13:04:33) Korov’ev: On the last day of the campaign, Cyan committed to making the macOS and PS4 versions, and EFIGS support, available even if the stretch goal wasn’t reached.
(05/11 13:04:35) Claidi Song claps her hands
(05/11 13:04:41) MindWalker claps his hands
(05/11 13:04:45) bella1 cheers
(05/11 13:04:50) Umo: woah cool
(05/11 13:04:51) Korov’ev: Luckly enough, the stretch goal WAS reached, so it’ll be easier for them to do it!
(05/11 13:04:56) axenna cheers
(05/11 13:05:02) Claidi Song cheers & dances a jig
(05/11 13:05:09) Korov’ev: During the campaign, Cyan had AMA sessions on Reddit ( /r/FirmamentGame ) and Discord (N75H64X), a live streaming on Facebook ( @firmamentgame ), and linked Proof of Concept demo streamings:
(05/11 13:05:14) Umo dances
(05/11 13:05:20) Emor D’ni Lap: an impressive last-few-days push, it was!
(05/11 13:05:35) bella1 dances
(05/11 13:05:40) rarified: The Cyan community is dedicated!
(05/11 13:05:44) Umo dances
(05/11 13:05:49) Korov’ev: Many of us were worried, but … it`s happening!
(05/11 13:05:59) Korov’ev: As with the Myst 25 KS, there were community goals, which of course were achieved!
(05/11 13:06:10) Korov’ev: Rewards will be: 1) a 3D printable model of the Adjunct; 2) some Firmament concept and in-game arts; 3) one of the first music tracks.
(05/11 13:06:39) Korov’ev: Cyan also clarified that the $49+ tier will include custom narrative elements and unique skins ONLY available to backers.
(05/11 13:07:21) Korov’ev: There will be of course ways to back the game for those who missed the KS.
(05/11 13:07:29) Korov’ev: The current plan is to support Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Rift S, Valve Index, and of course Windows and macOS.
(05/11 13:07:41) Korov’ev: By the way, Obduction will be updated for Rift S and Valve Index too.
(05/11 13:08:13) Korov’ev: Rift S is what was known as Knuckles, I think.
(05/11 13:08:53) Korov’ev: At the moment, Linux doesn`t seem to be planned for.
(05/11 13:09:05) Korov’ev: Next, for the Myst25 campaign Cyan partnered with Nvidia, to provide exclusive codes to gain access to the free GeForce Now beta (Archivist tier and higher).
(05/11 13:09:20) Emor D’ni Lap: Now all backers can start their own class-action “buy us a Rift” Kicksatarter campaign!
(05/11 13:09:30) Korov’ev: GeForce Now provides gamers with the ability to stream gameplay rendered remotely, trading the need for high-end specs with fast streaming (at least 25 Mbit/s).
(05/11 13:10:08) Korov’ev: Also, the Myst e-Book novels and the Riven digital map rewards for Writer’s tier backers have arrived! Details for their distribution will arrive soon.
(05/11 13:10:26) Korov’ev: For Mass Mysteria, at the end the conventions were held in: Denver, Boston, Rochester, Cleveland, Columbus, Portland, Salt Lake City.
(05/11 13:10:37) Korov’ev: The only non-U.S.A. event was held in Berlin, Germany. The Melbourne, Australia one has been postponed to a soon-to-be-announced date.
(05/11 13:11:00) Korov’ev: Participants enjoyed escape rooms, scavenger hunts, museum visits, puzzles and souvenirs, and already some people have started making plans for next year!
(05/11 13:11:33) Korov’ev: Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to participate to any, so I can’t relay any personal experience. Conventions are always fun, though 🙂
(05/11 13:11:49) Korov’ev: For Mysterium, registration and hotel reservations are open: the location will be the Ruby River Hotel in downtown Spokane.
(05/11 13:11:55) Korov’ev: The Committee has secured a rate of $119/night for one-bed rooms and $129/night for two-bed rooms (plus tax).
(05/11 13:12:01) Korov’ev: As for the registration to the convention itself, from now until June 1st you can purchase a weekend pass for $35 or a premium pass (weekend + shirt + coloring book) for $60.
(05/11 13:12:07) Korov’ev: The Committee is also collecting memories from past editions, to be displayed in some fashion.
(05/11 13:12:24) Korov’ev: As a reminder, event submissions are still open. The deadline is May 20 (close!).
(05/11 13:12:46) Korov’ev: Before we move on to the calendar, some good news: explorer Peke’s operation went well and she is doing fine, and already visited the Cavern again a few times!

(05/11 13:14:53) Korov’ev: Yeah, the Firmament KS kept everyone too busy to prepare an announcement 🙂

(05/11 13:34:22) shokhootahn Rehn: On the surface, I have finished moving. Yay!!! I am still putting things away and finding forever homes for everything. As a result there will not be any daytime classes until further notice. They *should* be able to return sometime in June. Night time classes, however, will resume this week
(05/11 13:34:43) shokhootahn Rehn: As always, current students can find last-minute updates to class times on the left-hand imager.
(05/11 13:34:51) Umo: yeaahhh
(05/11 13:34:56) Umo screams
(05/11 13:34:57) shokhootahn Rehn: Also, I use Magic Bot’s (KI #27527) advertisements to announce last-minute changes to class times.
(05/11 13:35:07) shokhootahn Rehn: You can get those advertisements by adding him as a buddy and then sending him a PM with the word: advert
(05/11 13:35:20) shokhootahn Rehn: If Magic Bot is not on-line, you can also PM Mimi Bot (KI #71459) the word, as well.
(05/11 13:35:32) Umo: advert
(05/11 13:35:33) shokhootahn Rehn: The Guild of Instructors’ Hood will be open and public unless a class is in session. I will announce the availability of classes on the Hood imager when they are ready to resume.
(05/11 13:35:43) shokhootahn Rehn: The second announcement is about r’Taytahn’s Story Night.
(05/11 13:35:49) Rabbit leans left
(05/11 13:35:57) bella1 cheers
(05/11 13:36:00) shokhootahn Rehn leans right
(05/11 13:36:04) shokhootahn Rehn: Due to my traveling, Story Night – Europe is at a different stage of the history than is original Story Night.
(05/11 13:36:05) Umo yells
(05/11 13:36:13) shokhootahn Rehn: For Story Night – Europe, we will be finishing the events from The Book of Atrus and starting the events from the game of Myst. Please not, I will only be telling the story of the events. No puzzle spoikers will be given out during the story.
(05/11 13:36:22) shokhootahn Rehn: For original Story Night, we will be continue with the events in The Book of D’ni and will finish with it next week week where I will give an explanation for all of the prophecies we’ve heard. Then, it will be on to the game of Exile.

(05/11 13:36:43) shokhootahn Rehn: Original Story Night is held at 23:30 KI time on Saturday night. We start gathering at the hood’s fountain starting at 23:00 KI time.
(05/11 13:36:48) bella1 cheers
(05/11 13:36:51) shokhootahn Rehn: Story Night – Europe is held at 14:00 KI time on Saturday afternoon. We start gathering at the hood’s fountain starting at 13:30 KI time except for AGM Saturdays, when it starts at 14:00 KI or 30 minutes after the AGM, whichever is later. Again, I use Magic Bot to advertise changes to Story Night times for both Europe and original.
(05/11 13:37:02) shokhootahn Rehn: Times for original Story Night (Saturdays at 23:30 KI time) are unaffected by my traveling. However, they are affected by power outages due to thunderstorms… which, unfortunately, ’tis always the season. Should this be the case, I will try to aprise one or two of my regular audience members of the situation so they can spread the news. 🙂
(05/11 13:37:11) Rabbit: great to have you back, Shokhootah r’tay!
(05/11 13:37:13) Rabbit starts to laugh
(05/11 13:37:15) shokhootahn Rehn: The stories are told using voice so you will need to have your speakers or headsets on.
(05/11 13:37:28) shokhootahn Rehn: r’Tayrtahn announces the start of Story Night through buddy chat. If you would like to receive the announcements, please send r’T a KI mail (with your KI number included in the text) and he’ll add you to his buddies list. His KI number is 58324. KI mails do not identify the KI number of the sender so it must be added to the body of the text.
(05/11 13:37:44) shokhootahn Rehn: Some have sent messages to be added but have not included their KI mail so they were unable to be added.
(05/11 13:37:51) bella1: Rehn/r’tay thank you for you service!
(05/11 13:37:54) shokhootahn Rehn: Also, I use Magic Bot’s (KI #27527) advertisements to announce last-minute changes to Story Night times.
(05/11 13:38:05) shokhootahn Rehn: Again, Story Night – Europe will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of today’s AGM or at 14:00 KI time, whichever is later.
(05/11 13:38:13) shokhootahn Rehn: (14:00, today)
(05/11 13:38:18) Rabbit does a dance
(05/11 13:38:24) shokhootahn Rehn: We hope to see you there!
