All Guilds Meeting – December 2019 – Cleansed Chatlog

(12/07 13:02:30)Korov’ev: Shorah, and welcome to the 116th All Guilds Meeting!

(12/07 13:02:34)Claidi Song claps

(12/07 13:02:39)Korov’ev: In the D’ni calendar today is Leevobro 9, 9675, and the time is 22:01:21

(12/07 13:02:51)Korov’ev: If there’s anyone new: welcome to the Cavern! You picked the best time to visit πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:02:59)Korov’ev: As usual, I’ll remind you the 5 Meeting Rules:

(12/07 13:03:00)Boywhith: We will have a paryy when it is the 200rst…

(12/07 13:03:06)Boywhith: *party

(12/07 13:03:14)Korov’ev: Sure!

(12/07 13:03:17)Korov’ev: 1. Please *keep chatter to a minimum* while speakers are talking. The occasional comment or emote is fine, but be respectful and let the speaker finish.

(12/07 13:03:24)Korov’ev: 2. If you have a question for a speaker, please don’t ask it directly: PM it to me. Be sure a “?” is somewhere in it to properly log the question in the queue.

(12/07 13:03:44)Korov’ev: 3. Speakers, please indicate when you are done speaking and ready for questions, and when you’re ready for the next question.

(12/07 13:03:50)Korov’ev: 4. If a question requires a long explanation, we may have to skip it to keep things moving. In that case, you can always PM any speaker once they’ve left the stage.

(12/07 13:03:55)Korov’ev: 5. A summary and a chatlog of the Meeting will be published in the next few days on the Guild of Messengers’ site: https://guildofmessengers.org/

(12/07 13:04:12)Korov’ev: Of course, you can start your own chatlog with “/startlog”.

(12/07 13:04:32)Korov’ev: So, it’s the festive month, which means an advent calendar and, obviously, a party πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:04:40)Korov’ev: Let’s hear it from Minasunda!

(12/07 13:04:58)Claidi Song clap

(12/07 13:05:05)Minasunda: Shorah and happy Christmas Time πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:05:06)Doobes is ready to…par-taaay

(12/07 13:05:16)Minasunda: for those who do not know yet, the Uru Advent calendar is available with new great content.

(12/07 13:05:34)Minasunda: You can get the markergame with PM to Mir-O-Bot “sendme 8833282”.

(12/07 13:05:48)Minasunda: For every day there is a number in Aegura. Before collecting the marker, it makes sense /startlog. So you can easy copy the links from your folder on your computer:

(12/07 13:06:01)Minasunda: Your logfile you can find here: documents / uru live / log.

(12/07 13:06:16)Minasunda: In each number you will find 2 video links to youtube – one video is in German, the other video German with English subtitles.

(12/07 13:06:29)Minasunda: If you do not feel like collecting markers: You can also find an advent calendar with the same content here:

(12/07 13:06:41)Minasunda: with english subtitles: https://tuerchen.com/5ca6f155

(12/07 13:06:52)Minasunda: without subtitle: https://tuerchen.com/8e577cf4

(12/07 13:07:08)Minasunda: The videos are not available in advance. They are only from the corresponding day on available on Youtube.

(12/07 13:07:21)Minasunda: We hope you have as much fun watching as we are doing the videos. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ :DWe, that’s Eternal Seeker, Mabe and me.

(12/07 13:07:37)Minasunda: The second announcement is for the Christmas Party.

(12/07 13:07:49)Minasunda: This year will take place in Mir-O-Bots Eder Delin on Dezember 15 at 13 KI.

(12/07 13:08:06)Minasunda: To get there PM “link” or “meet” to Mir-O-Bot. You need him in your Buddielist – his KI is 32319

(12/07 13:08:17)Minasunda: Our Yoda will make sure that the Christmas party will be magical.

(12/07 13:08:29)Minasunda: The Nulp Dance Group will also provide entertainment and the music stream can be found at www.urutunes.com/Seeker

(12/07 13:08:43)Minasunda: I still have one last point:

(12/07 13:08:57)Minasunda: Please think about the 10th anniversary of MOULa in february. So far, only PodHopper has registered for the implementation of an event. And – of course – the Nulp Dance Group

(12/07 13:09:18)Minasunda: Thats all. Any questions ?

(12/07 13:09:42)Korov’ev: none in queue

(12/07 13:09:51)Minasunda: I wish ypu a magical Christmastime. Thank you.

(12/07 13:09:56)Minasunda bows

(12/07 13:09:58)Thumbs up from PodHopper

(12/07 13:09:59)Handyman Henry: millions but not relevant

(12/07 13:10:01)Emor D’ni Lap: thank you, Minasunda!

(12/07 13:10:07)aqua: Sounds great!

(12/07 13:10:08)Korov’ev: thank you Mina!

(12/07 13:10:23)Korov’ev: Time for some news from the fan Ages front; let’s hear it from Doom, er, Doobes, and Rarified!

(12/07 13:10:28)Doobes: LOL!

(12/07 13:10:42)Emor D’ni Lap applauds

(12/07 13:10:51)Doobes beckons rarified

(12/07 13:11:00)Handyman Henry gives a thumbs up to Doobes

(12/07 13:11:01)rarified: Oh, together we go?

(12/07 13:11:09)Doobes: Sure. You can go first though. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:11:16)rarified bows

(12/07 13:11:20)Doobes bows

(12/07 13:11:24)Korov’ev: well, I gather the topic is similar πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:11:38)rarified: I’ll let Doobes lead off…

(12/07 13:11:43)Handyman Henry thinks they both have found the secret stash

(12/07 13:11:44)Doobes: Ah, OK.

(12/07 13:11:48)Doobes: Hello, my fellow explorers!

(12/07 13:12:01)Doobes: I come to you with news from the fan content front.

(12/07 13:12:17)Doobes: Late last month, with the help of rarified and Hoikas…we were able to get the Pub working on Minkata-alpha!

(12/07 13:12:36)Doobes: While the Ages Emor and I submitted earlier were basic testing Ages, as you know, the new GoMe Pub is a beast as far as junk in it, both interactive and just pretty to look at.

(12/07 13:12:56)Doobes: So it’s quite handy to use as a benchmark for testing.

(12/07 13:13:11)Doobes: What does this mean? Put simply, that’s one step closer to getting it…and other fan Ages…to MOULa!

(12/07 13:13:19)Susa’n is amazed!

(12/07 13:13:28)Minasunda: Wow

(12/07 13:13:30)Doobes: Luckily, we were even able to locate, and in some cases squash, a few nasty bugs, both with the Age itself and with MOSS.

(12/07 13:13:32)Boywhith: wow!

(12/07 13:13:56)Doobes: I am confident that, along with the other content I’m building and porting, it’ll soon be time to send this work along to Cyan’s staging server…and after that? Hopefully right here to MOULa. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:14:16)Doobes: This content will include upgraded Cyan Guild Pubs and an upgraded Watcher’s Pub (although the path to the tree still won’t be open as it requires more work).

(12/07 13:14:39)Doobes: I’m also hoping to send all four fan Ages currently on Gehn and TOC, plus two brand new Ages from me to help tie things together.

(12/07 13:14:41)Korov’ev: too many weeds

(12/07 13:15:08)Doobes: I’ve been working like crazy to get this stuff ready to present to the community at large for heavy testing before we send all of it along to Cyan…but I’m hopeful we can get it all here to MOULa very early next year.

(12/07 13:15:34)Doobes: After that, it’ll hopefully open up the pipeline for others to submit their Ages for consideration. And I’d be happy to lend advice and a bit of help on that front.

(12/07 13:15:53)Doobes: In the meantime, if you want to drop into Minkata-alpha and see the Pub, all the details on the shard are here:

(12/07 13:16:00)Doobes: http://forums.openuru.org/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=1035&p=9683

(12/07 13:16:20)Doobes: Note that rarified here may be tinkering with things at times, so it may not be up and available all the time. It IS a testing shard, after all. πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:16:39)Doobes: Also, you’ll be using an internal client with console commands, so it can get a bit technical. It’s not TOO difficult once you have the commands down though.

(12/07 13:16:59)Doobes: Currently, the Pub is having some SDL issues, so it’s once again inaccessible, but that will most likely change once the problem is found and fixed.

(12/07 13:17:16)Doobes: I have complete faith in rarified’s abilities. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:17:21)Doobes salutes

(12/07 13:17:29)rarified chuckles.

(12/07 13:17:39)Doobes: When you *do* get to the Pub, or any test Age, the best thing you can do is go around and heavily scrutinize everything.

(12/07 13:17:53)PodHopper: How about testing instructions to access the pub?

(12/07 13:18:01)rarified: Walk through the curtains and fall off the end of the world.

(12/07 13:18:17)Doobes: Now now…I fixed that. Leftovers from a planned addition. πŸ˜›

(12/07 13:18:26)rarified: Hehe

(12/07 13:18:43)rarified: May I?

(12/07 13:18:50)Doobes: Certainly. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:18:59)Emor D’ni Lap: I would /sit

(12/07 13:19:03)Emor D’ni Lap: oops

(12/07 13:19:10)Doobes: LOL!

(12/07 13:19:10)rarified: Shorah also, patient traveler!

(12/07 13:19:30)rarified: The last month has been unusually productive on the testing pipeline.

(12/07 13:19:56)rarified: Things picked up with a code submission from cjkelly1, a veteran explorer and

(12/07 13:20:11)rarified: one of the original authors of the MOSS server we use on Minkata.

(12/07 13:20:26)rarified: He provided the initial additions to the client that were necessary to

(12/07 13:20:47)rarified: be able to explore ages that were built with Blender and Korman, a modern

(12/07 13:21:06)rarified: tool rather than the commercial tool Cyan originally used for MOULa.

(12/07 13:21:37)rarified: This code was critical to getting fan created ages such as Doobes’ pub

(12/07 13:21:53)rarified: into the Minkata server and explorable.

(12/07 13:22:08)rarified: (It’s been a thorn in the side for almost two years)

(12/07 13:22:22)Doobes: Oh, it’s a thorn in any shard admin’s side at one time or another. πŸ˜›

(12/07 13:22:32)rarified: With that, as Doobes has mentioned, we now have opened up Minkata-alpha

(12/07 13:22:53)rarified: to the fan creators, for the first rounds of testing a couple of fan ages.

(12/07 13:23:12)rarified: I’m going to handle Minkata-alpha a little differently than Minkata.

(12/07 13:23:36)rarified: Minkata-alpha is an additional shard running in parallel with Minkata. It uses

(12/07 13:23:58)rarified: the same Minkata client, but you access it by running a magic “batch” file

(12/07 13:24:14)rarified: you add to your Minkata installation.

(12/07 13:24:23)Doobes: It’s really quite simple once it’s set up.

(12/07 13:24:32)rarified: What also will be different is that announcements about new testing cycles

(12/07 13:24:51)rarified: (I hope) will come from the Fan authors, rather than me. I will take the role

(12/07 13:25:09)rarified: of adding a fan age into Minkata-alpha, and leave it up to the author to

(12/07 13:25:25)rarified: describe the things they want tested, as well as any special ways to get

(12/07 13:25:42)rarified: access to their age. For the time being, because we don’t have an in-game

(12/07 13:25:56)rarified: linking book or additions to the nexus to reach fan ages, you will have to

(12/07 13:26:24)rarified: use unusual commands (typed from the keyboard) to gain entry to an age.

(12/07 13:26:32)Doobes: I’m working to remedy that as well, by and by.

(12/07 13:26:45)rarified: I again will ask the fan content authors to describe which commands you

(12/07 13:27:03)rarified: should use to explore these ages. I hope they will put announcements in

(12/07 13:27:17)rarified: both the MOULa and OpenUru forums when this happens.

(12/07 13:27:24)Doobes: Works for me. Takes some of the work off your plate. A Good Thing ™. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:27:40)rarified: Minkata-alpha will be much more volatile than Minkata. I won’t hesitate

(12/07 13:27:58)rarified: to rebuild the vault or change/add/remove test ages with almost no advance

(12/07 13:28:01)rarified: warning.

(12/07 13:28:26)rarified: As Doobes also mentioned, there currently appeared a problem with the passing

(12/07 13:28:40)rarified: of some age information between the server and client for the most recent

(12/07 13:28:52)Korov’ev: This should probably be remarked: these are test shards, wipes are possible and expected.

(12/07 13:29:00)Doobes: Indeed.

(12/07 13:29:02)rarified: iteration of the Guild of Messengers Pub (the only test age currently on Minkata-alpha).

(12/07 13:29:17)Doobes: Well, aside from the bare bones ones Emor and I made. πŸ˜›

(12/07 13:29:33)rarified: I am actively working to locate the problem, so if you visit, don’t be concerned with a Net 6

(12/07 13:29:53)rarified: or some really bizzare behavior, even in the “normal” ages.

(12/07 13:30:18)rarified: There were two topics on the OpenUru forums you should read to get an overview

(12/07 13:30:21)John5: y

(12/07 13:30:23)rarified: of using Minkata-alpha:

(12/07 13:30:53)rarified: http://forums.openuru.org/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=1035

(12/07 13:30:55)rarified: and

(12/07 13:31:13)rarified: http://forums.openuru.org/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=1020

(12/07 13:31:39)rarified: Reading those two will tell you how to gain access to, and switch between Minkata and Minkata-alpha.

(12/07 13:32:07)rarified: Finally, I’d like to mention that there are a couple of fan ages under construction that

(12/07 13:32:24)Korov’ev: And you will soon start to dread the L key.

(12/07 13:32:24)rarified: will provide in-game access to these new ages.

(12/07 13:32:48)rarified: Once those have become available and tested, I’ll start moving fan content into Minkata along

(12/07 13:33:08)rarified: with the new Nexii or whatever mechanism is designed for fan access.

(12/07 13:33:36)rarified: That will be the enabling event to start considering when fan content can be considered

(12/07 13:33:42)rarified: for inclusion in MOULa.

(12/07 13:34:02)rarified: I know this has been long winded, but there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and

(12/07 13:34:13)Doobes nods

(12/07 13:34:30)rarified: it has been the result of excellent coordination between our authors, testers, and lowly me.

(12/07 13:34:50)Emor D’ni Lap: aw c’mon now raarified

(12/07 13:34:54)rarified: I want to express my appreciation to Doobes and the GoW for their help. And

(12/07 13:35:02)Doobes: Aww. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:35:15)rarified: we are getting close. Closer than OpenUru time. Closer than Cyan time.

(12/07 13:35:22)rarified: And with that…

(12/07 13:35:23)rarified bows

(12/07 13:35:33)Handyman Henry claps again

(12/07 13:35:33)PodHopper: Thank you!

(12/07 13:35:38)Doobes: (I’ve got a bit more for ya, just FYI)

(12/07 13:35:49)Doobes: So speaking of Ages, work continues on porting Cyan’s into ready-to-export-and-modify files.

(12/07 13:36:02)Doobes: Chogon has drafted some legal language to include with these files. Once that’s finalized, I hope to post the “base” versions of the blends on GitHub.

(12/07 13:36:18)rarified: Oh, yes, one more from me too πŸ˜€

(12/07 13:36:24)Doobes: From there, anyone can download the Ages and modify it however they like. Presumably, one could even customize many Ages for their own shard for a sort of “alternate dimension” kind of thing. πŸ˜€

(12/07 13:36:37)Doobes: A “Shard of Dreams” if you will. *nods to Nev’yn from the chatlog* πŸ˜›

(12/07 13:36:59)Korov’ev:

(12/07 13:37:02)Doobes: The most important point here is this: I know you’ve heard for years about fan Ages and content coming to MOULa, and I know it hasn’t been delivered yet after so many years of promises.

(12/07 13:37:16)Doobes: Please know that I know how you feel. It can be incredibly frustrating getting your hopes up and continuing to wait.

(12/07 13:37:34)Doobes: However, as rarified stated, recent developments, along with Cyan’s loosening of the rules with their Ages, has opened things up as they never have been before. Along with Chogon’s help and enthusiasm (seriously, the guy is awesome and wants to see this happen as much as we do!), we are closer now than ever.

(12/07 13:37:56)Doobes: To put it another way…it’s now not a question of IF…but WHEN.

(12/07 13:38:10)Doobes: So please…keep the faith alive as you have done so well for so long, my friends. Enjoy the cavern, have the best of times with each other here, keep planning amazing events, continue to donate to the CAVCON as much as you can…because exciting new things ARE coming. And SOON!

(12/07 13:38:28)Doobes: (That’s a *soon* soon, not a Cyan “Soon” ™ )

(12/07 13:38:41)Doobes: As always, you can keep up to date on my works at my usual two spots online:

(12/07 13:38:43)Kayara is cautiously VERY optimistic πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:38:44)Korov’ev: a Very Soon

(12/07 13:38:46)Susa’n tingles with anticipation

(12/07 13:38:48)westar: lol

(12/07 13:38:50)Doobes: Facebook: https://www.facebooks.com/agesofdoobes

(12/07 13:38:52)Boywhith: great news!!!

(12/07 13:39:00)Doobes: Er, *facebook.com LOL!

(12/07 13:39:11)Doobes: WordPress: https://agesofdoobes.wordpress.com

(12/07 13:39:21)Doobes: And lastly, another word from rarified. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:39:50)rarified: Ok, one more thing. If you have hung around the fan age authors and/or GoW at all,

(12/07 13:40:14)rarified: you may have heard that building ages is not for resource-challenged computers.

(12/07 13:40:43)rarified: Not only do the authors need a big computer, but with content comes the need to

(12/07 13:40:59)rarified: store that content (an archival library, as it were).

(12/07 13:41:22)rarified: Free access to large quantities of storage is rare. But I happen to have on the OpenUru

(12/07 13:41:34)rarified: server a fair amount of open space.

(12/07 13:41:55)rarified: I have offered to establish a repository on the OpenUru server to run in parallel

(12/07 13:42:17)rarified: with the GoW repositories on github for authors to store their big blend files and/or

(12/07 13:42:27)rarified: ages as they evolve.

(12/07 13:42:34)Doobes: Very nice!

(12/07 13:42:47)rarified: If you are an author, I would encourage you to look for an announcement from Hoikas{Adam}

(12/07 13:42:47)Korov’ev: Yay!

(12/07 13:42:58)rarified: and I when this is set up and tested.

(12/07 13:43:16)rarified: So there, github. Pfffft.

(12/07 13:43:21)Doobes: LOL!

(12/07 13:43:25)Korov’ev: heh

(12/07 13:43:31)Emor D’ni Lap: haha

(12/07 13:43:44)rarified: Ready for questions?

(12/07 13:43:44)Korov’ev: Time for a few (quick) questions, I’d say.

(12/07 13:43:49)Doobes: I’m ready.

(12/07 13:44:02)Korov’ev: Our next question is from Emor D’ni Lap.

(12/07 13:44:02)Korov’ev: [Emor D’ni Lap] Q: will the New GoMe Pub have a general beta-testing stage on the main Minkata server/shard?

(12/07 13:44:15)Doobes looks to rarified

(12/07 13:44:23)Doobes: I’m guessing so, but it’s rarified’s call. πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:44:36)rarified: As I mentioned, I’m going to hold off moving fan ages to Minkata until we have the first versions of

(12/07 13:44:52)rarified: a Nexus or Linking book to get to those fan ages.

(12/07 13:45:09)Korov’ev: Our next question is from Lutra.

(12/07 13:45:09)Korov’ev: [Lutra] So, Minkata-alpha is alpha, and Minkata is beta?

(12/07 13:45:14)Doobes: That was one of the two new Ages I mentioned earlier.

(12/07 13:45:14)rarified: In that regard, I’ll keep Minkata clear for any code changes that we may need to send to Cyan.

(12/07 13:45:30)rarified: Minkata-alpha is the first testing stop for fan ages.

(12/07 13:45:33)Emor D’ni Lap: Okay then, a couple more points if I may?

(12/07 13:45:36)rarified: (Alpha if you prefer)

(12/07 13:45:38)Korov’ev: I think there’s one more step πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:45:56)Doobes: The last stop before MOULa is Cyan’s staging server.

(12/07 13:46:05)Emor D’ni Lap: I’d guess that the same would be true for the Cyan shard here:

(12/07 13:46:06)rarified: Minkata is the place where everything being sent to Cyan is blended (pun) together.

(12/07 13:46:10)Korov’ev: Let’s answer the logged questions first

(12/07 13:46:23)Doobes nods

(12/07 13:46:28)Emor D’ni Lap: We would need an access point first, and that would have to be tested on Minkata as well

(12/07 13:46:28)Doobes: They waited patiently. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:46:41)rarified: So what is on Minkata, is what will be sent to Cyan on the next delivery.

(12/07 13:46:53)Doobes: Again, namely their staging server.

(12/07 13:47:15)Korov’ev: Our next question is from Boywhith.

(12/07 13:47:16)Korov’ev: [Boywhith] How much % chance there is some of that new content is in MOULa within a year, you think?

(12/07 13:47:21)Emor D’ni Lap: right, but as you said, content won’t jusmp from Alpha to Cyan Staging directly

(12/07 13:47:25)rarified: Does that (multiplexed) answer your question?

(12/07 13:47:34)Doobes: If I have any say, 100%. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:47:54)rarified: @Boywhith I can’t give a percentage, and Doobes is a member of the eternal optimist club.

(12/07 13:47:54)Doobes: Chogon has been very enthusiastic about this as well. He’s the key to it all, I’d say.

(12/07 13:48:09)rarified: But we will do everything we can to make this happen.

(12/07 13:48:11)Doobes: Plus, Cyan letting us tinker with their toys doesn’t hurt either, so they should get some credit too.

(12/07 13:48:12)Boywhith: 100%… is that realistic?

(12/07 13:48:22)Korov’ev: Our next question is from radioflux.

(12/07 13:48:22)Korov’ev: [radioflux] Is someone actively working on the path to the tree in the Watcher’s Pub? (If so, with Cyan’s blessing?)

(12/07 13:48:32)rarified: It’s in the possible solution space.

(12/07 13:48:33)Doobes: Yes. Things have been moving that much behind the scenes.

(12/07 13:48:49)Korov’ev: Our next question is from Kayara.

(12/07 13:48:49)Korov’ev: [Kayara] Speaking of a linking book: Any updates on the labrary age (sorry if I missed them) ?

(12/07 13:49:07)Korov’ev: Doobes’ or Sevkor?

(12/07 13:49:08)Doobes: Not that I’m aware of, radioflux. The beauty of the files I’m porting is that anyone can have a crack at them.

(12/07 13:49:14)rarified: There are a couple of authors in the audience… πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:49:42)Doobes: I’m very close to finishing mine. I’ve got it working in Destiny, which is where I usually test before sending it out into the wild.

(12/07 13:49:52)Handyman Henry: Ok

(12/07 13:50:03)Doobes: Luckily, it’ll only require a slight modification of a Python file to get it to fully work…hopefully. πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:50:35)Korov’ev: We should move on, so a few more questions then you can talk with the speakers later…

(12/07 13:50:36)Doobes: Right now, it’s mostly the look of the Age that needs to be finalized…need to beat it up to age it a bit (no pun intended).

(12/07 13:50:48)Kayara: woohoo!

(12/07 13:50:56)rarified: Ok, any more for us?

(12/07 13:51:01)Korov’ev: Our next question is from Lutra.

(12/07 13:51:01)Korov’ev: [Lutra] A bit off topic, but do they know if Korman can work on Linux?

(12/07 13:51:02)Doobes: Feel free to boot us off if we’re holding everyone up, Kor. πŸ˜‰

(12/07 13:51:19)Doobes: Er…not sure? Sadly, that’s a question for the GoW crew.

(12/07 13:51:35)Lutra: k, thanks.

(12/07 13:51:44)Emor D’ni Lap: I do have a point to make here

(12/07 13:51:47)Doobes: All those brilliant programmers. πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:51:48)rarified: I don’t see a technical reason. But of course you will need to test your age on a Windows client.

(12/07 13:51:54)Korov’ev: A quick one, please

(12/07 13:52:11)Emor D’ni Lap: sorry, not quick enough

(12/07 13:52:32)rarified: Ok. Thanks for listening all, and keep up the faith!

(12/07 13:52:40)Doobes: Thanks everyone!

(12/07 13:52:42)Doobes bows

(12/07 13:53:07)Doobes: Sorry we hogged most of the meeting. πŸ˜›

(12/07 13:53:13)Handyman Henry says ‘Yikes’ they need food

(12/07 13:53:26)rarified: My trail mix bowl is empty.

(12/07 13:53:26)Korov’ev: Speaking of fan creations,

(12/07 13:53:31)PodHopper: doobes: it was well worth it

(12/07 13:53:34)Korov’ev: a week ago Mystitech Prod. (which I happen to be part of) has released Episode 8, “Schisms”, of their machinima series “The Lost Art”:

(12/07 13:53:37)aqua: Yeah good stuff!

(12/07 13:53:42)Korov’ev: https://youtu.be/RDevUmdvcfY

(12/07 13:53:51)Korov’ev: In the last episode, we had a mysterious egg, shared dreams, and Thomas’ new assistant turned up to be not exactly human. What’s next?

(12/07 13:54:07)Korov’ev: Stay tuned for more plot twists Very Soon!

(12/07 13:54:11)Doobes: Yay!

(12/07 13:54:27)rarified: A Christmas episode? πŸ™‚

(12/07 13:54:31)Korov’ev: December 28, in fact, when Episode 9 will be released — as a Premiere event, during which you’ll be able to chat with the creators live.

(12/07 13:54:49)Doobes: Nice!

(12/07 13:55:09)Claidi Song says “Cool”

(12/07 13:55:10)shokhootahn Rehn: Cool!

(12/07 13:55:21)Korov’ev: v

(12/07 13:55:24)Korov’ev: Time for some Cyan news:

(12/07 13:55:44)Korov’ev: (if you haven’t subscribed to the official newsletter, you can do it from https://cyan.com/mailing-list/)

(12/07 13:56:09)Korov’ev: If you’re online…

(12/07 13:56:13)Korov’ev says DOH!

(12/07 13:56:22)Korov’ev: You must have noticed that the client has been updated, for the first time in years!

(12/07 13:56:31)Handyman Henry: mysted it by that much

(12/07 13:56:35)Korov’ev: Some people had problems updating: usually the issue is that the client is unable to replace itself; temporarily launching it with admin privileges should fix the problem.

(12/07 13:56:40)Doobes: Dusted the cobwebs off it, they did. XD

(12/07 13:56:44)Korov’ev: (though you should consider moving the game folder away from Program Files)

(12/07 13:57:08)Korov’ev: If the client crashes, it could be PhysX, or some missing DLL. You should visit the MOUL forums for more troubleshooting,

(12/07 13:57:19)Korov’ev: For example, https://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=28534

(12/07 13:57:38)Korov’ev: Moving on…

(12/07 13:57:46)Korov’ev: On November 26, it was announced that Cyan Ventures acquired the tabletop roleplaying game “Unwritten: Adventures in the Ages of Myst and Beyond”, by Inkworks Productions, one of the first 3rd party works in the D’ni universe since Myst IV: Revelation.

(12/07 13:58:13)Korov’ev: Small revisions will be made to the existing Unwritten manuscript to reflect the new ownership, and the revised version will be available in the future from the Cyan Store, as well as from DriveThruRPG.

(12/07 13:58:40)Korov’ev: Future versions of the Unwritten core rule book, future supplements, or other related products will be published by Cyan Ventures, in partnership with Inkworks, which will remain the primary developer for the Unwritten product line.

(12/07 13:58:54)Korov’ev: For more info: https://cyan.com/cyan-ventures-acquires-unwritten-adventures-in-the-ages-of-myst-and-beyond/

(12/07 13:59:13)Korov’ev: In other news, December is Lexember, and Cyan has been releasing some new D’ni words – with a phonetic transcription too! – through their Twitter account [https://twitter.com/cyanworlds].

(12/07 13:59:14)rarified: That’s a mouthful of URL.

(12/07 13:59:39)Korov’ev: long and memorable!

(12/07 13:59:44)Korov’ev: somewhat…

(12/07 13:59:45)Doobes: Thank goodness for chatlogs!

(12/07 14:00:01)Korov’ev: So far, they’ve released: ADVUH, n. arch; TAYGAHN, v. to love deeply, with the whole mind; BOL, n. brother; B’RISH, adv. very, so (lit. ‘to twenty’); DAHGO, n. hammer (derived from DAHG, v. “to strike”); ELIOYKHETS, adj. gusty; EDER, v. to rest / n. a moment of rest (used in naming Garden Ages).

(12/07 14:00:24)Korov’ev has Cyan’s Twitter page open right now, just in case they post another one

(12/07 14:00:41)Korov’ev: Now, some news from Mysterium 2020!

(12/07 14:00:48)Handyman Henry: Who uses Twiter?

(12/07 14:00:58)Korov’ev: Cyan

(12/07 14:01:08)Korov’ev: Submissions for art designs are now open! There will be four categories: T-shirt, pins, activity book, writing & artwork table. Deadlines will be staggered through early-to-mid 2020.

(12/07 14:01:13)Kayara sends mental message to Cyan: wait untill one minute after meeting closes πŸ˜›

(12/07 14:01:31)Korov’ev: (they probably will)

(12/07 14:01:38)Korov’ev: For the T-shirts, the Triumvirate encourages you to incorporate Sirrus vs Achenar, Red vs Blue, Haven and Spire, etc. into your design. Feel free to also tie in the host city of Washington, DC.

(12/07 14:02:06)Korov’ev: Did I mention the next Mysterium is organized by a Triumvirate?

(12/07 14:02:14)Korov’ev: If your design is selected, you will receive a free Mysterium shirt! The deadline for this will be February 16, 2020. Details for the submission at https://mysterium.net/submissions/t-shirt-design-submissions/

(12/07 14:02:30)Korov’ev: For the pins, they are once again planning a set of enamel ones. Pin design is an easier and faster process than shirts. The deadline for these will be March 15, 2020. Details for the submission at https://mysterium.net/submissions/pin-design-submissions/

(12/07 14:02:41)Korov’ev: For the activity books, which are the new thing for 2020, you can create a coloring book page, a word search, a crossword puzzle, etc. The deadline is April 19, 2020. Details for the submission at https://mysterium.net/submissions/activity-book-submissions/

(12/07 14:02:52)Korov’ev: Lastly, for the writing & artwork table, you’ll be able to showcase your Cyan-related artwork or writing. Details can be found here. All content must be in by July 31, 2020. Details for the submission at https://mysterium.net/submissions/writing-art-table-submissions/

(12/07 14:03:14)Korov’ev needs a moment to breathe!

(12/07 14:03:25)Doobes hads Kor a glass of water

(12/07 14:03:28)Korov’ev: And now, an update from r’Tayrtahn, aka Shokhootahn Rehn!

(12/07 14:04:16)Korov’ev: Rehn! On stage!

(12/07 14:04:23)Doobes: Hehehe.

(12/07 14:04:57)shokhootahn Rehn: I have two separate announcements. One is for the D’ni Language Class and the other one is for r’Tayrtahn’s Story Night.

(12/07 14:05:16)shokhootahn Rehn: First, the language classes…

(12/07 14:05:39)shokhootahn Rehn: On the surface, I have finished moving. Yay!!! I am still putting things away and finding forever homes for everything after my recent move. As a result there will not be any daytime classes until further notice. They *should* be able to return sometime in the winter. Night time classes, however, are unaffected.

(12/07 14:05:58)shokhootahn Rehn: As always, current students can find last-minute updates to class times on the left-hand imager.

(12/07 14:06:24)shokhootahn Rehn: Also, I use Magic Bot’s (KI #27527) advertisements (when he’s on) to announce last-minute changes to class times.

(12/07 14:06:41)shokhootahn Rehn: You can get those advertisements by adding him as a buddy and then sending him a PM with the word: advert

(12/07 14:07:02)shokhootahn Rehn: If Magic Bot is not on-line, you can also PM Mimi Bot (KI #71459) the word, as well.

(12/07 14:07:26)shokhootahn Rehn: The Guild of Instructors’ Hood will be open and public unless a class is in session. I will announce the availability of daytime classes on the Hood imager when they are ready to resume.

(12/07 14:07:53)shokhootahn Rehn: There are evening classes avaible on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, starting at either 20:00 KI time or 21:00 KI time, depending on the student’s schedule.

(12/07 14:08:10)shokhootahn Rehn: Are there any questions?

(12/07 14:08:19)Korov’ev: None in queue

(12/07 14:08:35)shokhootahn Rehn: The second announcement is about r’Taytahn’s Story Night.

(12/07 14:09:06)shokhootahn Rehn: Due to my traveling, Story Night – Europe is at a different stage of the history than is original Story Night.

(12/07 14:09:44)shokhootahn Rehn: I’d like to thank Mirphak and NikkiMay for their invaluable help with the bi-annual Bahro Glyph Tour this year!

(12/07 14:10:22)shokhootahn Rehn: Last week for Story Night – Europe, we Started the story arc with the D’ni creation story, the pre-history, and the story of the firt king, Ri’neref. Today, and for the next 32 weeks, we will hear the stories of the kings.

(12/07 14:10:57)shokhootahn Rehn: *first

(12/07 14:11:11)shokhootahn Rehn: For original Story Night, we will finish with part 5 of the fan fiction “Jae’s Journey”.

(12/07 14:11:11)Korov’ev: the flirt King

(12/07 14:11:34)shokhootahn Rehn: lol

(12/07 14:11:40)shokhootahn Rehn: Story Night is held in the public neighborhood of Tsahno’s Hood every Saturday.

(12/07 14:12:02)shokhootahn Rehn: Original Story Night is held at 23:30 KI time on Saturday night. We start gathering at the hood’s fountain starting at 23:00 KI time.

(12/07 14:12:27)shokhootahn Rehn: Story Night – Europe is held at 14:00 KI time on Saturday afternoon. We start gathering at the hood’s fountain starting at 13:30 KI time except for AGM Saturdays, when it starts at 14:00 KI or 30 minutes after the AGM, whichever is later. Again, I use Magic Bot to advertise changes to Story Night times for both Europe and original.

(12/07 14:13:09)shokhootahn Rehn: Times for original Story Night (Saturdays at 23:30 KI time) are unaffected by my traveling. However, they are affected by power outages due to thunderstorms… which, unfortunately, ’tis always the season. Should this be the case, I will try to aprise one or two of my regular audience members of the situation so they can spread the news. πŸ™‚

(12/07 14:13:33)shokhootahn Rehn: The stories are told using voice so you will need to have your speakers or headsets on.

(12/07 14:13:56)shokhootahn Rehn: r’Tayrtahn announces the start of Story Night through buddy chat. If you would like to receive the announcements, please send r’T a KI mail (with your KI number included in the text) and he’ll add you to his buddies list. His KI number is 58324. KI mails do not identify the KI number of the sender so it must be added to the body of the text.

(12/07 14:14:23)shokhootahn Rehn: YOU *MUST* INCLUDE YOUR KI NUMBER IN THE BODY OF THE MAIL TO BE ADDED!

(12/07 14:14:38)shokhootahn Rehn: Some have sent messages to be added but have not included their KI mail so they were unable to be added.

(12/07 14:15:00)shokhootahn Rehn: Also, I use Magic Bot’s (KI #27527) advertisements to announce last-minute changes to Story Night times.

(12/07 14:15:27)shokhootahn Rehn: Again, Story Night – Europe will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of today’s AGM.

(12/07 14:15:40)shokhootahn Rehn: We hope to see you there!

(12/07 14:16:03)shokhootahn Rehn: Any questions?

(12/07 14:16:14)Korov’ev: None in queue

(12/07 14:16:24)shokhootahn Rehn bows

(12/07 14:16:24)Korov’ev: Thank you Rehn!

(12/07 14:17:14)Korov’ev: I forgot to mention: the Lost Art premiere is tentatively set for Dec 28 at 13:30 KI time

(12/07 14:17:31)Korov’ev: But it may change πŸ™‚

(12/07 14:17:39)Korov’ev shrugs

(12/07 14:17:39)Korov’ev: And with that, it’s time to wrap up this Meeting!
